The incongruent and flippant response of Armidale Regional Council to formal submissions received that support reopening our railway and / or object to rail trail proposal. See:

Our community wants trains not our railway ripped up!

@davidjmills67@NERTinc@RailTrailsAus Rail trails are inclusive? What about the inclusiveness of those who want their trains back not their railways ripped up for bike tracks?
The Armidale / Moree bound Xplorer service captured from a passing train at Farley (near Maitland) on 11 March 2023. The train will divide at Werris Creek. The Armidale portion should be continuing beyond Armidale!

⚠️Severe Weather Warning issued: HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to flash flooding is forecast to develop over parts of northeast NSW during Sunday morning or afternoon. Six-hourly rainfall totals of 80-110 mm likely, reaching up to 150 mm over coastal areas and ranges.
Today's historic pic: 4908 and an LVR tour train on their return from Wallangarra are seen on Bolivia Bank, just south of Bolivia, NSW, 36 years ago today, August 4 1985. The last passenger train ran here in 1988 and the line is now disused north of Armidale, 160km south of here.
@NERTinc@Fractal10@PaulTooleMP@BicycleNSW Amazing, it seems the same people who demand railways get ripped up for bike tracks are demanding that trains be fitted for bikes...
@NERTinc@ScottMorrisonMP@ScottMorrisonMP as @NERTinc like to use NewZealand as example for rail trails Here's our example of how rail is of economic benefit to the region.

Rail benefits more than rail trails.
@aiGOODtime @davidjmills67@SaveGNR@NERTinc@ScottMorrisonMP Mr Mills wouldn't know what day it is! Our petition to reintroduce passenger trains north of #Armidale is still growing and approaching 10,000 signatories, the majority of which are from New England residents.

@NERTinc@ScottMorrisonMP I'd like to see where there is a tax return show a profit from a rail trail, I reckon there wouldn't be one anywhere. Railways would have for economic benefit to the region than a rail trail any day.
@NERTinc@ScottMorrisonMP Fortunately there is no overwhelming community support for a rail trail in the New England region of NSW. Vast majority of region supports the return of rail services north of Armidale. The economic benefits of a operational railway far outweighs that of a rail trail.
@NERTinc@ScottMorrisonMP Would rather see rail services reinstated north of Armidale than a rail trail, there are ample quiet country roads and trails including the great Northern trail that are underutilised for cycling and walking. Rail services reinstated will help make our roads safer for all users.
