Building a cycling game to make my indoor training sessions less boring.
I rode all of Nandi Hills in it on a real smart trainer, with a Garmin watch on ANT+ to double-check the numbers.
Power, speed and cadence matched. The one gap is power: Garmin shows a 3-sec average, and my game shows real-time. Easy fix.
Routes I'm thinking of adding next:
🌴 Ironman Goa 70.3 bike course
🏎️ An F1 race track
⛰️ Nilgiris climb
🛵 Koramangala food deliveries
Which one should I build first?

Every Bangalore cyclist has a Nandi Hills story.
Mine : wake up at 4am, load the bike, drive an hour - all that to climb and then takes two hours to drive back home in the traffic.
So I rebuilt the climb in my cycling game,
7.5km, 450m elevation, 11 hairpins, modelled from the real route and elevation data.
Trainer resistance matches the actual gradient the whole way up, to get the real feel minus the traffic.

Building a game to make my indoor cycling sessions less boring.
Claude just cooked up this aero road bike, 50mm deep carbon wheels, tan-wall tyres, frame inspired by the Canyon Aeroad.
Built with Opus 5.5 at medium effort, ~8 iterations.
Still plenty to improve, but I had to stop burning tokens on the bike alone , this thing already cost me 2 resets on my Claude Max plan 😅
Next: getting the actual game live.
Also, this game still needs a name. Drop your best ideas ↓

The world in my game isn't made up, it's real Bengaluru streets (Indiranagar), pulled straight from OpenStreetMap.
Same roads, same turns, same junctions you'd actually ride.
Just with deliveries, traffic signals, and (soon) way more chaos.
I switched to @claudeai from @OpenAI Astra, Opus5.5 with high effort doing way better in building 3d environment.

Taught my delivery rider to pop a wheelie.
Context: I'm building a game to make my indoor cycling sessions less boring and the rider just got a bunch of new moves. Watch below 👇
Feels alive now.
Next up: hooking it up to a real smart trainer for an actual ride. But first sound effects and music 🎵

Indoor training sucks. So I'm building a game to fix that.
10+ years as an app developer. Never built a game until now. Learning game dev from zero, using AI to speed up the process.
Problem:
I'm a triathlete and I don't enjoy my indoor training sessions.
Solution:
an indoor cycling game I actually want to play, a food-delivery adventure on real streets, powered by your Bluetooth smart trainer (Garmin Tacx, Wahoo, etc).
Don't ask why delivery, I just think there's a ton of fun and gamification potential in it.
Cyclist, triathlete, or just curious how this gets built? Follow along.
Downloaded a 5 km radius of #Indiranagar from OpenStreetMap.
- 6+ hr to fetch all the data.
- 324,902 map elements.
- Roads, buildings, shops, places.
Next:
Turn it into a playable 3D world.
Working on something that makes long indoor cycling session less boring.
Tried building a 3D cyclist controllable from my Garmin Tacx trainer. Zero game dev experience, so this is chaos. Stuck on rigging, https://t.co/7UQURHT3n6 auto rig came out broken, claude couldn’t fix it either.
Has anyone done this using AI tool? Would love some direction.
The Norwegian 4x4 protocol is trending because influencers claim it reverses aging.
But 9 out of 10 people do it completely wrong.
