Check out assembly theory - it’s not computationally what you are looking for, but it does layout an interesting information perspective to natural life. Maybe it’s amenable to some of the ideas you’ve been cooking

I eventually became more settled on what layer of abstraction I want my tools to be and it’s been beautiful coming back to Apple - everything just works again

@ftlsid The gift and curse of independent research is the land outside readily deducible answers. In my own work it’s taking years to assemble the structure required to bring the truths I’m intuitively convinced of into the realm of truths that can be constructed.
