The GOI has failed in Manipur. Now demand for pre-merger status is echoing and rightly so among the Manipuris. The constitutional rights of Manipuris are not protected by the State. They are left to defend themselves when attacked by kuki militants. The pet dogs of GOI - SoO militants have gone rogue. The owner must take responsibility for the fallout.

In these 18 months the Manipuris have learnt their lessons. It's time to accept Manipur is de facto an occupied territory by India. The natives are being suppressed methodically using its paid mercenaries from across the border - all the time maintaining the facade of democracy. Now the mask is off. People are in revolt mode and GOI is directly and solely responsible for all the deaths and damages, which happened and happening still.

The Suspension of Operation/SoO agreement ends on 29th February 2024. Inspite of its terms being blatantly violated many times over by the militants, it is being kept alive. If GOI and GOM extends the agreement again this time, then it will be crystal clear these militants are being groomed and allowed to grow at the costs of indigenous people and their land for some sinister design of the State. The very location of these camps surrounding Imphal speaks volumes.

Geo-politics may be important but can never be superior to protection of lives and properties of own citizens. State failing to protect its citizens is sign of being a failed State.

We must never allow or accept any further extension of this SoO agreement. This needs to be abrogated in total.
