Kati Bihu, a festival season primarily celebrated in #Assam and North East of #India. It commemorates resilience and dedication of agrarian communities. It marks a crucial phase of crop protection and transition of the growing rice season. During the festivities, the families come together to offer prayers for a bountiful harvest and is celebrated with lighting of lamps near the plant of holy basil (Tulsi) and across paddy fields.
May the warm light of the Akash Banti (lamp lit on a bamboo stick) illuminate a season of abundance and protection.
Team Lex Terrae, extends our warmest wishes on the occasion of Kati Bihu. May this season bring prosperity, growth, and security to all.

Pronounced on August 20, 2026, the #Supreme Court’s nine-judge Constitution Bench delivered a nuanced ruling while revisiting the 1978 Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board v. A. Rajappa judgment and refined the interpretation of “#industry” under Section 2(j) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
Key Takeaways:
1. Proposed Commercial Refinement (#Jurisprudence): A 5:4 verdict, with #ChiefJusticeofIndia #SuryaKant and justices Satish Chandra Sharma, Alok Aradhe, Vipul M Pancholi and PS Narasimha forming the majority on the need to refine the law.
2. Status of the 1978 Triple Test (#LaborLaw): The #CJI-led opinion retains the core requirements of systematic activity, employer-employee cooperation, and production/distribution of goods and services.
3. Pending Disputes Protected: The original Bangalore Water Supply triple test continues to govern pending proceedings under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
4. Firewall for New Industrial Relations Code (#LaborReforms): The Bench clarified that its decision does not determine the interpretation of “industry” under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, leaving the new statutory framework to operate independently.
The Supreme Court’s ruling provides greater legal clarity and regulatory certainty for workers, public institutions and corporate enterprises, with significant implications for employers, employees, educational and charitable institutions, welfare bodies and other organisations across #India.

In these turbulent times of wars in Europe and Middle East, we join with the Global Community to align with the theme for 2026 i.e. “#InvestInPeace - For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”
Established in 1981, this day was initially designated to coincide with the opening session of the General Assembly. However, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the UN officially fixed September 21 (9/11) as an annual dedicated day of global ceasefire and non-violence.
It’s a practice to observe a silence of a minute at 12:00 noon local time, to honor architects of peace and reaffirm our shared responsibility toward a balanced and stable world.
At Lex Terrae, we remember this Day and hope that the World Leaders shall work towards sustainable peace, based upon rule of law and fair dialogue. Wishing everyone a harmonious International Day of Peace!
