When IISERs first started, they used to pay scholarships to every student.

Then those scholarships ceased, but students who earned KVPY or DST Inspire fellowships received financial support.

Then KVPY was stopped. Now it appears that DST Inspire is gone too👇

Meanwhile the fees have continued to go up. Now it’s close to 60K per semester.

Slowly but surely IISERs are being put beyond the reach of financially weak but talented Indian students. We have barely heard a word of protest from Indian academics on this.

Every time #Kashmir appears to be on the brink of normalcy terrorism rears its ugly head. I cannot imagine that the average people of Kashmir would support something that impacts their very livelihood - tourism. The logical conclusion leads straight to external elements and the small fraction of deviants within. There should be zero tolerance for those who are explicitly or implicitly involved in terrorism. But there should be strong support and love for the people who just want to live a life of peace. Dissent and debates are part of democracy, terrorism is not.
