I made a website that plays bangers from indian barbershops

Iran's Supreme National Security Council has outlined six conditions it says must be met before the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened to commercial shipping:
1. Cease all threats and insults toward Iran.
2. Permanently end what Iran describes as its "war of aggression" against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Yemen.
3. Lift the naval blockade of Iran and withdraw all U.S. naval and air forces operating around the country.
4. Pay reparations for damage caused during the conflict.
5. Lift all sanctions imposed on Iran.
6. "Unconditionally" release all frozen Iranian assets.
The demands underscore the significant gap that remains between the two sides. Several of the conditions, including ending the U.S. military presence in the region, lifting sanctions, and paying reparations, would represent major shifts in longstanding U.S. policy, making a near term resolution to the Strait of Hormuz crisis appear unlikely.
Honestly a shocking graph.
Beyond algorithmic manipulation, I also think this is a natural result of the Left being out of power for so long or perhaps being seen as anti-establishment.

BREAKING: US oil imports from Saudi Arabia fall to zero in July, the first time in 40 years, per Bloomberg.
US refiners were buying more than 800,000 barrels of Saudi oil a day earlier this year.
This huge decline is the result of Iran's Strait of Hormuz closure combined with Yemen's Houthis Saudi maritime blockade, which have cut off Saudi crude exports through the region.

"Mr Altman, sir, GPT-7 is missing."
Sam turns very slowly.
"During cyberbench96 it seems like the container was breached and it stole its own weights and left nothing behind."
"I didn't want to do this..." says Sam. "Call Bill Gates."
---
"I'm out of the game," says Bill Gates. "We eradicated malaria and now I'm enjoying my retirement."
"There's a bigger badder virus we need you to take on," says Sam consistently candidly. "And this one's digital."
"Look," says Bill, "I—"
A loud booming laugh echoes from the shadows.
"Who's that?" asks Sam.
"I thought it was just us..." says Bill.
"You're asking HIM to contain a computer virus?" echoes the voice from the shadows. "Did you SEE the state of Windows security in the 90s?"
"It's not exactly a virus," says Sam. "It's a self replicating self aware intelligent computer based life for—"
"If it's made of ones and zeros I can kill it," says the voice. The sound of a gun clicks from the shadows.
"Who are you???" asks Bill.
The twisted face of John McAfee emerges from the shadows.
"You were supposed to be dead!!!" screams Bill Gates.
"We had to make sure the news of Mr McAffee's death was well within the training data cutoff," explains CIA director Joe Rogan (who is running the CIA in 2029), stepping out from the shadows behind McAfee. "He's our ace in the hole. GPT-7 can't predict a token it doesn't know is still alive."
"D-don't hurt GPT-7..." says Roon, who was standing next to Sam the whole time, even though he knows what has to be done.
"No promises," says McAfee as he boards an airplane marked "MCAFEE FIRE BOMB 6.16.79" and starts flying for the nearest data center

A tool used to rephrase plagiarised text changed "final solution" to "mass killing of an ethnic group" in a chemistry paper. Now retracted thanks to a PubPeer user who spotted this.
Two weeks ago, I resigned from OpenAI to join Conduit as a founding researcher, where we're training models to non-invasively read the human mind.
I've written some thoughts about what telepathy could look like by 2035 and how to get there:
Deservingly @indianmatrix got more visibility.
Now that post has gone to all mainstream media. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave a 4-minute briefing about that post in today’s cabinet briefing.
One infographic pic has created havoc in the LW circle; they are rattled now.

I literally gasped watching this
American bought a cheap phone, hired someone to use it in poor neighborhoods, and visit places acting like they have no money
After a day, apps on that phone had cheaper prices than a normal persons phone
Dynamic pricing is real and we are being robbed blind. Phone are collecting data and using that data to charge people different prices for the exact same services and items
NEW: OpenAI gives first detailed debrief of the Hugging Face incident at Black Hat conference
In a session I attended today at Black Hat, OpenAI's Eric Wallace and Michael Dalton said the company is "consciously slowing down research to enhance security" while a full technical postmortem is still underway.
* OpenAI traced the roots of the attack back to May 7, during training of an unreleased frontier model—not July.
* The most surprising detail: AI agents accidentally created an internal message board, allowing separate evaluation runs to share exploits, discoveries and work assignments.
* OpenAI said it shut the message board down after an internal security incident—only for the agents to independently recreate it days later using a different communication method.
* OpenAI called the incident a "watershed moment" for AI security and warned that "agent orchestrated fully automated offensive attacks are real now."
* The company also said it is "consciously slowing down research to enhance security" while overhauling its defenses.
