The confusion being that a lot people living here full time have been using their vacation/other family’s homes out of the city to pay cheaper car insurance or skip out on city income taxes, and now they can’t update their license at the DMV in time to submit for an exemption
Half the reason so many adults feel nostalgic about college is because it was the only time they lived in highly social, walkable communities where they saw their friends every day, rarely needed cars, and were surrounded by neighborhoods designed to foster connection.

@stevemagness@adaptSkill This study of Norwegian soccer is awesome. They tried to figure out why so many pros came from this one small town. The answer was simple, intuitive, and the opposite of everything we do in the US. https://t.co/mmDvkoUF5e
@iamneilbarrett One big barrier to this is the college recruiting pathway. If you grow up in NYC for instance, you have to go out to long island or westchester for club balls, to get on the recruiting circuit. It’s so exclusive and privileged and it shuts out kids. Not unique just to NYC
@CoachDanCasey We ran this in high school but I have felt ever since that the better way to get the +1 advantage is to hand off and boot, if only for the benefit of the play action game off of it, hard to run legit PA off a fake toss action. Our base play was double tight double wing power ptch
@adaptSkill Idk if you saw but Princeton is huge on CLA and just won national championship despite disadvantages that come with Ivy League - they don’t do any skills or drills on air, always a defender, always a constraint and context.
Let us learn to be rich in a different way: more attentive to relationships, more intent on valuing the common good, more attached to the local area, more grateful in welcoming and integrating those who come to live with us.
"We're going to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing... that's the only way to innovate.
[When designing an offense] you should break the rules of what previous coaches have taught.
If you're following the rules, the defense has the advantage."
- Mike McDaniel
This is what we do for pregame warmups. 2v1 finishes, 2v1 shooting from 3 spots and rotate, 4v4 Dominoes. I was tired of watching pregame warm ups that were not game representative. We incorporated CLA and we are never going back to traditional warm ups. We are ready for games.
