The discussions, held together with @njiru_robin, Head of Public Sector at AWS, focused on advancing Kenya’s digital transformation agenda, with particular emphasis on leveraging cloud infrastructure, data ecosystems, and emerging technologies to support scalable digital services, enterprise innovation, and smart city solutions.

Today, our CEO @TonySebera joined an executive roundtable with an @awscloud #AWS delegation led by Liam Maxwell, Global Director for Digital Government Transformation to deepen collaboration on Rwanda’s digital transformation.

He highlighted #Rwanda’s bold journey toward Vision 2050, leveraging ICT to drive growth, expanding digital services, and advancing inclusion through affordable internet and digital literacy.

He also emphasized Rwanda’s progress in building trusted digital foundations, strengthening interoperability, improving data governance, and piloting AI to transform service delivery.

Strengthening Kenya’s Digital Future: Hosting @AWS_Gov Senior Leadership

Today, I had the privilege of hosting senior leadership from Amazon Web Services ( @AWS), including Liam Maxwell, Director of Government Transformation; Jyoti Ball, GM Sub-Saharan Africa; and @njiru_robin, Regional Lead for the Public Sector across West, East, and Central Africa.

Our discussions highlighted the remarkable progress Kenya has made in its digital transformation journey, with AWS acknowledging the government’s initiatives in advancing this agenda. We explored expanding areas of strategic collaboration, focusing on cloud solutions, data management, infrastructure development, enhancing government resilience, and accelerating digital skills through programs such as Ajira Digital.

The meeting also provided an update on the AWS Development Centre, launched by HE.The President Dr. @WilliamsRuto in October 2023, and progress on establishing an Availability Zone in Kenya.We also recognized the role of the centre's engineers in driving innovation and highlighted the various skilling and training programs targeting Kenyan talent by AWS.

Today, I hosted an Amazon Web Services (@awscloud) delegation led by Jyoti Ball, General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, on her inaugural visit to the region.

Accompanied by @njiru_robin (Public Sector Lead), Fuad Zaru (Business Development Lead), and Kellington Kituku (Kenya Public Sector Lead), we discussed the role of technology in supporting Kenya’s Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA).

Our discussions focused on working together to promote digital skills and the creation of digital jobs, enhancing citizen services and setting up a joint team to address these critical areas.
