My point is that the maximum punishment prescribed in the Holy Quran for zina is 100 lashes. So why demand the death penalty? That doesn’t mean I’m advocating for giving them 100 lashes. Adultery in a place of public worship is also a crime, but if you want to ensure fair punishment, don’t kill innocent people in the name of religion.

Calling out the death ruling is fair, but bringing up "it’s only 100 lashes" is wild, that level of physical brutality also leads to death itself.

Not sure if rebuttal using the religious books is the right strategy anymore. Even if the book says so, you CANNOT allow it in a civilized humane world. These religious books cannot update itself but laws and people can.
