Dedicated to improving the lives of NM children in foster care and empowering those who serve them through trauma-informed training, support and policy reform.
Our Colliers team was proud to sponsor the recent CARNM Annual Charity Golf Tournament—and everyone who participated had a blast! ⛳️
This year’s tournament benefited three incredible organizations: the Veterans Integration Center (VIC®), New Mexico Child First Network, and Watermelon Mountain Ranch.
A big thank-you to CARNM for hosting another fantastic tournament and bringing our industry together for a great day of fun and giving back! 🙌

So. … Children taken into CYFD foster care. What facilities does NM have to give these children… as young as 6 years old threatening to kill law enforcement… what facility does NM have to help/host and house them?
“If New Mexico CYFD functioned at the national mean (just average) 350 less children would have been abused.” Sean Sullivan NMDOJ. @nmhrcc@NMHouseGOP@nmchildfirst
CYFD workers suspected of speaking to The New Mexican became targets of retaliatory investigations and escalating harassment after an article was published in mid-March about the state agency's toxic work environments at multiple county offices. https://t.co/PqmGMrI7GQ
With the federal government shutdown barrelling toward a Nov. 1 “fiscal cliff,” state, local and tribal leaders are issuing urgent warnings that millions of families will soon be unable to meet basic needs.

Hey @UNM, we are looking to hire a small data team to help us review a new pilot project we are launching in 2026. Surveys, feedback, qualitative and quantitative.
Any leads for @UNMAnderson or data classes wanting to partner with us? DM or reply for more details! Thx!
The Family First Act’s core promise is worth fighting for. But we must acknowledge its Achilles’ heel: flexibility without accountability, writes Channing Collins.

🚨BIG WIN AGAINST CHILD TRAFFICKERS: The Michigan Supreme Court has ruled that the state is not required to attempt reunification with a parent who trafficked her child.
The Michigan Supreme Court overturned a dangerous ruling that had reinstated a mother’s parental rights even after she facilitated her 9 year-old daughter’s rape.
Founder & CEO @darcyolsen said, “This is the kind of ruling we need more of. A woman who traffics her own child doesn’t need parenting classes—she needs prison.”
Despite clear state and federal law, many states still default to reunifying children with parents who have trafficked or brutally abused them. We stand ready to challenge those failures in the highest courts when necessary.
And this is why parenting on meth is dangerous, if not deadly. ⚠️
Meth alters your brain chemistry - can prevent bonding with your child, make you paranoid - and yes, can create "homicidal ideation" towards your 2 yr old toddler.

The fourth annual Touch A Truck is happening this Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon, at Franklin Plaza (northeast corner of Central and Juan Tabo). Hope you can make it!
When a 16-year-old dies in CYfD custody and the system hides behind laws to avoid accountability, it’s not confidentiality — it’s complicity. The time for polite reform has passed. @nmchildfirst

“There’s no other way to say it, other than our children are dying here in the state of New Mexico” - Leader @Gail4NM.
We have a plan to repeal & replace the CARA Act and fix CYFD’s pattern of self-policed failures to protect our most vulnerable children.

The 2024 #nmleg SM5 Task Force mandated the final recommendation to the legislature that they must "Prioritize CARA statute amendments."
