@claudeai design just dropped.
Anthropic demoed an interactive globe. I rebuilt it three times.
Claude Design alone: 13:19, burned 64% of my weekly plan. @rive_app alone: 5:37, ~$10. @claudeai + @rive_app composed: 2:42, ~$3.
The chain beats the tool.

Vibe Coders and Designers are going to love this
Agentation just shipped Layout Mode, now you can drag, resize, add components live on the page, and get AI design feedback without leaving your project
All this for free...
You're a goat @benjitaylor
comfyui certainly led the charge on what looks like plugging in wires into computer parts but virtually
the iteration on comfyui with the relaxedness of figma is what @fuserstudio interface is gaming on and tbh it looks real fun!
a IDE for creatives seemingly making it easy to output visual mediums with LLM prompting and img/video models
this type of interface also doesn't hide the "scraps" that make the final output revealing the visual supply chain of the end product
This Claude 3.7 UI workflow is awesome
And many vibe coders not aware of it:
1. Have Claude 3.7 to design whole UI screen by screen
2. Ask it to make a plan, break down into components
3. Turn into actual project
By having Claude focus on just UI generation, it does a great job
You can build beautiful UI without shadcn

The Designer as an Artist
With all the talk about UX, strategy, business goals, and conversions in web design, I sometimes forget what initially drew me to design. It was creating something beautiful. As a teenager, I was looking at the album covers of my favorite bands and thought to myself, “Wouldn't it be amazing to get paid to do that?!”
One of my friends, Hen (https://t.co/TB3cTR278C), actually managed to do that and today he creates the designs for Israel's top artists. When I see his work, I am reminded why this format is called “album art” (vs “album design”), and why people like him will never be replaced by AI.
1. He is CREATIVE. He has amazing ideas and knows how to bring them to life, whether by guiding a photographer, illustrating, or using AI. An AI without a prompt is useless, and an AI with an amazing idea is mindblowing.
2. He's a craftsperson. Whether it's typography, color, or working with images, he has deep expertise to finetune each until the result is perfect and unique.
3. He can manage egos. You think it's enough to be talented to work with famous artists? Think again. They are difficult people to please, and it takes mastery to make them sign off a design. This will always be true for high-value design projects whether it's for a celebrity or a big company's CEO.
Many in web design today focus on “good UX and high conversion,” but that leads to everyone using the same structure and visuals, making most websites bland.
To make your design work stand out, and survive everyone having the same tools as you, you need to become an artist: be creative and run with your crazy ideas, develop your craft, and learn to work with difficult people. Those designers will always be valuable.
They said you can't make a realistic glass distortion in figma. Hold my beer...
I used the new "@Figma Make" (which is a beast) to make a tool for myself. And it works!
