@RealSwimburger Without benchmarks, my assumption would be the new code is faster and more maintainable at scale long-term based on it being more parallelizable. Whether the SaveAsync is implemented well under the hood, I don't know, but could improve in future releases.

@ppy @llyyr Seems like it could be any failure to write to the file after initializing it since it sounds like this is the state the file gets created with. Guessing there is some sort of disposal that would happen for most error cases. Interesting!
