@dadioonthepatio That’s not how it works. @Kristine_Froeba is correct. Change orders were issued for years 2024 and 2025 valuing the house itself at $0. They would’ve received a refund of over $22k.
@steppedenizen@mercury_nola City council president JP Morrell regularly has coffee with a council member meetings check his Instagram. Whether or not it would be helpful idk but I’m sure you could bring up your ideas with him.
@skooks Shocker. The RTA is abysmal. Never on time, dirty, and the streetcar routes are broken half the time and require you to get off and take a bus. No one seems to actually give a shit in this city.
Windowed jetways (Kanas City) vs closed (New Orleans). Makes a world of difference. KC is the 1st airport in the United States to have all windowed jetways.
$6,840
That's how much one New Orleans driver owes the city in unpaid fines for violations committed in a single vehicle over the past 3.5 years.
For my amusement, whenever I see a vehicle driving dangerously, I'll look up its license plate on the city's "Parking Portal." Although designed for anyone to pay fines they owe, anyone can look up any license plate and see all the tickets attached to that license plate and others they may use (yes, it's true). There is no personally identifiable information.
Earlier, a silver SUV zoomed by me and into my lane, causing me to quickly hit my brakes. Later, I looked up the plate. Here's a summary of their violations from 2 different license plates used by this person.
42 - Number of tickets since 08/20/2022
*21 speeding tickets
* 9 red light tickets
* 6 misc parking tickets
* 3 meter tickets
* 1 ticket for parking too close to the fire hydrant
* 1 ticket for parking too close to a crosswalk
* 1 ticket for parking too close to a stop sign
Fines range from a $30 meter parking ticket in the CBD to a $235 speeding ticket on Canal.
There are 4 dates with multiple tickets issued.
These are the people the city needs to go after, both for financial reasons and, more importantly, safety. People like this should not have licenses.
@EarlPansano@NOLAnews Moreno’s inauguration is privately funded. Wealthy people spending their money on this are employing locals to do things like hang those banners, which is a good thing. Cantrell wasted city resources to take them down, which is a bad thing. There’s a big and obvious difference.
@dadioonthepatio@BayouMamaBears Why are we paying for the city council to have full-time personal chauffeurs? No one ever gives an explanation for that line item.
@NOLAnews Appointing Barbara Major co-chair of @HelenaMorenoLA economic development committee is concerning. The Times-Picayune reported she gave herself $160K in taxpayer funded loans from her nonprofit. I understand that she endorsed Moreno but this is dangerous. @rjamesfinn@samkarlin
@hopitoulas@skooks I’m not calling anyone stupid. I’m saying no one to my knowledge in the city has the experience that’s necessary for managing the day-to-day of a well functioning city government. There are professionals that have that experience.
@CarrolltonWatch It’s not the approved sign. Over 30sf too big it doesn’t meet CZO or HDLC.

1. For signs on a background, the entire area of the background is calculated as sign area, including…the background used to differentiate the sign from the structure against which it is mounted.
@jdfromthe504 She’s obviously well-off, but a quick assessor search shows she doesn’t live in a gated community. This campaign lying from the jump isn’t a great sign.
