There’re hundreds of them. All for storing/serving data in SLIGHTLY different manners. All have their niches.

@niyonx @SimonHoiberg Lol server maintenance can be a real timesink (coming from decade-long homelabber). And the maintenance work FEELS like productive work (”if I do this maint. work, I’m saving $$$/mo”), but there are huge opportunity costs. If the bottleneck to your success is your time, buy SaaS.

@damonchen I think it depends a lot on the SaaS. Complex and widely needed SaaS might still have a decent moat, and wouldn’t be worth it to copy. But gone are the glory days.

On a more serious note: I think building production-worthy stuff is so cheap and fast nowadays, that the line between a fully-fledged MVP and market research is getting finer and finer by the day.

I have decided to test this hypothesis and just build as much stuff as humanely possible and putting that into people’s hands, literally bruteforcing my way into PMF. Maybe not a smart move, but I’m not a smart man.

AI brings in more code, but it also gives us the possibility to run pentesting/code review/etc. around the clock. Maybe not perfectly with the current models and harnesses, but give it 6-12mo.
