- We must scale up early action by matching investments in early warning systems with capacity to act, including community preparedness.

Our Three-Part Approach to #BeatTheHeat focus on:

- People: Protecting lives and building heat resilience.
- Places: Building resilient cities and sustainable urban systems.
- Partnerships: Building a powerful coalition with our global network.

By 2030, the @IFRC aims to protect 100 million people across 100 cities and 10,000 communities, with a target of mobilizing CHF 500 million to address extreme heat where it strikes hardest.

Let’s create a world where extreme heat no longer threatens our communities. Let’s beat the heat together. #COP29

Honored to be part of the high-level annual dialogue on coordination and complementarity for funding arrangements responding to loss and damage at @COP29_AZ.

Our message is clear:
- Climate crisis is as much about people as it is about planet.
- Local communities are often the first responders but need sustained support.
- Funds for loss and damage should work in complementarity and in coherence with other existing funds and in an agile manner with as direct support to the communities as possible.

The IFRC supports the operationalization of Loss & Damage Fund and call for funding mechanisms that act fast, support local action and strengthen comprehensive risk management.

Let's ensure no one is left behind. #COP29
