Our @NULearnLab@NU_SoC celebrated some of our truly amazing graduates! Gabi (4th from left) is staying @NUAuDSLP for her SLP, Femi @oshakuu (2nd from R) is off to Maryland to do kid EEG research, Yuri (not pictured) is off to USC for her SLP. I couldn’t be more proud!
Today at 2pm CST, Sean McWeeny in my lab will give an overview and demo of #SnowGlobe, the tool we developed for streamlining snowball searching for #metaanalysis. Register or will be recorded for future! Learn more here: https://t.co/yA6OxE1b26
Taking #Language Samples Home: Feasibility, Reliability, & Validity of Child Language Samples Conducted Remotely With Video Chat Versus In-Person, by Brittany L. Manning, Alexandra Harpole, Emily M. Harriott, Kamila Postolowicz, Elizabeth S. Norton https://t.co/7Z2SV4srpZ @NU_SoC
Our paper (no longer a preprint!) validating collection of language samples over video chat is now published in @ASHAJournals! Open access. Please share with your #slpeeps#slp#devlangdis colleagues!

When life gives you COVID, bring your wireless EEG to families’ backyards and try your level best to make 2-year-olds wear masks. Our team @nulearnlab@NU_SoC@NU_DevSci are developmental cognitive neuroscience superheroes! 🧒 🧠 🦸♀️
We @nulearnlab met and decided that among other actions, we will have at LEAST 1 lab meeting per quarter devoted to disparities, diversity, and how we can help. Talked about how @TheDrPT is an awesome scientist and @NU_SoC alum. This is indeed right on time for so many reasons 👏
Today we virtually celebrated our graduating lab members: Silvia (PhD); Alex, Camille, Emma (MS-SLL); Ambreen, Anu, Cadence, Kamila, Jissmaria, & June (BA/BS). We are so grateful for all they did for the lab over their years & are so excited to see what they do next! 🎓#nu2020
Congrats to our postdoc Jessica Page on her presentation on our social EEG project, as part of the Cognitive Neuroscience Data Blitz 2020! 🤓🧠 @MSSatNU@NU_SoC@NU_DevSci
We @nulearnlab have posted (our 1st) preprint comparing feasibility, reliability, and validity of toddler language samples collected in the lab versus remotely via commercial video chat platforms. In short, it works well. https://t.co/hORjYqzXh8 #telehealth#slpeeps#wespeechies
Wishing you could still collect data without in-person visits? Our lab has written up our guide to collecting and recording language samples and tasks via video chat! Please share! 👩👦💻👩🔬https://t.co/0Fg1Yge4sM
We got our first infant/toddler longitudinal MRI data today! Look at how this little kiddo's brain has grown. Bravo to our team including postdoc @hashtagAshleyN@nulearnlab@NU_DevSci#goodnews
Not only do the amazing students in the @nulearnlab figure out hugely efficient and novel ways to forward and backward search for #metaanalysis, our undergrad June wrote code to show the relations of 2000+ citing/cited articles, which look like some sort of universe. #staytuned
It's long been believed that a baby's cries are an alarm system alerting parents of the baby's needs. It turns out they also indicate where your little one is at in the language development process, which begins in utero. https://t.co/Z7jzGjj0nF
Today is the @NU_DevSci holiday party - and we’re so excited to see Dr. Brad Marino and our fearless leader Dr. Elizabeth Norton show off a great video about the Neurodevelopmental Core (ft. some of our fantastic lab members) at the party!
Happy Holidays! ❄️⛄️
