(1/4) A new paper @brainstimj challenges a foundational assumption in computational models of brain stimulation (neuromodulation/electrical stimulation). Rather than suggest prior predictions were wrong, this paper shows how the suitability of this foundational assumption can be evaluated in any application (FES, SCS, DBS, TMS, tDCS, tACS, ETC, TI...). So this will be interesting...
Looking forward to the โBrain Stimulation at the Microscopic Scaleโ event in February 2025! See you at the 6th International Brain Stimulation Conference. #BrainStim#Neuroscience#Freiburg#BrainStimulation

Where to place an ultrasound transducer to optimally target a specific brain region in a given individual?
We developed ๐ฃ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ง๐จ๐ฆ, a tool that helps TUS researchers to quickly and heuristically select the most promising transducer placement(s).
A ๐งต on its functionalities.
@LMBClaudino@SandraM4rtin@GesaHartwigsen@labCoPla@brainstimj Interesting and a pity, it's a nice paper! I was a bit surprised to find so little on this topic tbh ๐คทโโ๏ธ
We explicitly didn't focus on MEPs (at *that* intensity/coil type/pulse shape/...) to not get lost in the review process - maybe it helped.
You might try again now๐ค
Why is motion correction a thing for fMRI but nobody quantifies it during #TMS?
Well, we just put out a metric to easily quantify within-session movement of the TMS coil, e.g. due to subject movement.
Say hi to pulsewise coil displacement / PCD.

Placement of the TMS coil is defined via 3 positional (XYZ) and 3 rotational parameters (abc). We set-up PCD with cortical e-field exposure in mind and also provide positional and rotational submetrics if you prefer that.
Please have a look at the publication for details.

Exciting discussions at #OHBM2024! Our symposium on Multimodal Imaging Approaches to Tackle Brain Excitability was a blast. Grateful to all presenters and participants for making it a success! @e_Kallioniemi @Jcoetzee@MartinTik1
Thanks @OHBM for this great conference! Had a fun time discussing our project on the alignment of resting and task states in semantic cognition in the young and aging brain in Seoul! @labCoPla#OHBM24
#OHBM2024: We looked at #TMS dosing strategies - turns out the traditional ๐๐-๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฒ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ข๐๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐ for cortical stimulation - see poster for solutions ๐ง ๐โก๏ธ
