[Primary motor cortex] Souza et al.: "Multi-channel TMS electronically changes the stimulus orientation in milliseconds. The effect of neuronal refractoriness, short-interval intracortical inhibition, and intracortical facilitation depends on the stimulus orientation. Maximum inhibition and facilitation with conditioning pulse at posterolateral and anteromedial orientation, respectively."

Fantastic!!! 🎉 This is an important step for bringing multi-locus TMS to widespread use.
A great reward for a hard work in this application with @rjirjirji and Dubravko Kicic!!
#OHBM2024: Want to see how different multichannel #TMS systems outperform a figure-of-eight coil in regression-based localization? After running these simulations I'm on fire to get hands on an(y) #mTMS system asap

The 10th iteration of this international TMS–EEG summer school organized by Aalto University still has some open participant slots, so if learning TMS–EEG from leading researchers in the field sounds exciting, please check the website for more details!
• New application deadline: May 26, 2024
• Science Factory dates: August 30 – September 4, 2024
• Science Factory website with instructions and registration form: https://t.co/hqmxHgkei6
‘Sometimes there have to be storms, snow and slush. We were recently skiing in the Alps. The snow hit my face and I couldn't see much of anything. But it would be rather boring to live in eternal sunshine,’ says Risto Ilmoniemi.
How do you feel about it?

Discussing neuroscience with kids is an amazing experience that pushes us to rethink our research and present our work in a clearer way. Check our experience from last year's @OHBM for kids.

Thanks @Kangjoo_Lee_ and @hansenmoraes for the blog post!
For those looking for an amazing event full of fun and insightful activities that will (most likely) upgrade your #tms and #tms_eeg skills.. Come to our @tmseeg summer school surrounded by wonderful nature and people! #neuroscience#brainstimulation@AaltoUniversity

New paper in Imaging Neuroscience @mitpress by Konstantin Weise, Thomas R. Knösche, et al:
Directional sensitivity of cortical neurons towards TMS-induced electric fields
https://t.co/12LdX1SwWr
@brainstimj@brainstimj this is a misleading and click-bait summary. This study does NOT eliminate the need for neuronavigation. Navigated TMS is not only for anatomical targeting (topic of the paper) but also to ensure reproducible, consistent TMS coil positioning across sessions.
I am very excited that our new paper entitled "Directional Sensitivity of Cortical Neurons Towards #TMS Induced Electric Fields" is published in @ImagingNeurosci
🥳
We are extremely happy to support this great new Journal with our work!
