My sister, Dr Uzma Khan, filed a petition before the Supreme Court on the 6th of May 2026 through Uzair Karamat Bhandari, ASC, for Imran Khan’s examination and treatment in the presence of his personal doctors and family members.
On 18th August, a three-member Supreme Court bench ordered the government to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital within 2 days. The government blatantly violated the order.
The government did not shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital. All the other aspects of the order have also been disobeyed.
The Supreme Court had also ordered:
1.Constitution of a medical board in consultation and coordination with the management of Shifa International Hospital
2.Dr Faisal Sultan, Imran Khan’s personal physician, to be associated with the medical examination and treatment
3.Imran Khan be allowed to speak to his sons twice a week
4.Imran Khan be allowed to meet with his family once a week.

All the above reliefs were in accordance with the Constitution, Prison Rules and earlier orders/precedents.
NONE of the above directions have been complied with. The only limited access granted to the family has been to my sister, Noreen Niazi, who was allowed to meet Imran Khan on each of the previous two Tuesdays. Inexplicably, before meeting Imran Khan she was made to sign an affidavit undertaking that she will not speak to the press after the meeting.
In view of the gross and deliberate violation of the order, Dr Uzma Khan filed a petition for contempt of court. Despite the fact that our lawyer, Uzair Bhandari, filed two applications, early fixation and hearing of the contempt petition has not been granted and it has been fixed on 16th September.
The Constitution and the law require proper check up and treatment for Imran Khan and an END to his torture through isolation and solitary confinement!! This is what the Supreme Court order required. The demand that this be done is not extraordinary: these are Imran Khan’s fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. If the government has no respect for the Constitution and the decisions of the Supreme Court, and can simply disregard its orders, what other forum is left for us?

Look at the audacity of this family! Their idea of “investing in AI” in Punjab is to make her brother-in-law the Minister for AI — someone who isn’t even elected.

He is the son of the family accountant — in other words, someone who may well be the custodian of their closely held secrets.

And this same brother-in-law’s nephew has been charged with gang rape, abduction and extortion involving two foreign nationals just a couple of months ago.

Pakistani army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir bears striking resemblance to Don Vito Corleone or his son Don Michael, the American mafia Dons (bosses) in Mario Puzo's famous novel 'The Godfather'.
Consider the following :
1. Both have judges, senators, policemen, journalists, etc in their pockets
2. Both make many opponents 'sleep with the fishes'
3. Both have armies to instil terror, with caporegimes etc ( the Pakistani caporegimes being the corps commanders)
4. Just as Michael got Barzini, the hostile boss of another family, killed, Asim Munir has got former Prime Minister Imran Khan killed, not literally but figuratively, by keeping him in jail for over 3 years in horrible conditions, in solitary confinement, and without books, newspapers, TV, etc, and with no hope of release,
5. Both enforce 'omerta' ( the rule of silence). Pakistani people, who live in terror, know that they must keep their mouths shut, like the 3 wise monkeys who saw no evil, heard no evil, and spoke no evil, knowing that otherwise  'utha liye jaayenge' ( picked up and locked up in a dungeon).
