Instead, they created a new problem: performative productivity.

People look busier. They're actually less focused.

Cost of an open office interruption: 23 minutes to regain focus.
Cost per employee per year: ~$11,000 in lost productivity.
A single open office of 50 people = half a million dollars in annual focus loss.
And we built them thinking it would make us more efficient.

The best collaboration happens between focused people, not distracted ones.

SaaS isn't dying. It's splitting.

Commodity tools (form builders, trackers) are getting replaced by AI built in house.

Nobody wants to hold the liability when a payroll calc is wrong for 4,000 people.

That's the split I'm watching.

Every frontier lab now has a forward deployed engineer army.

My read as a PM: that's an admission.

Demos run on clean data.

Production runs on whatever the customer actually has. Someone has to bridge that, and it's rarely the model.

I'd rather be building the bridge than the demo.
