Almost 1000 students and researchers have been stuck in limbo of the AP for over 15 months. Many families are separated, mothers and children are waiting for husbands, husbands are waiting for wives, and many more examples.

The extremely low number of Iranian visas, particularly from August 2023, suggests a systematic disruption.
During the last two months, these Iranian scholars have appealed to news agencies and reporters to highlight the challenges they are facing. We appeal to anyone who can assist us in resolving the visa issues affecting Iranian students. Iranian students should not be victims of political games and power struggles.

More than 700 Iranian students admitted to some of the most competitive programs at prestigious American🇺🇸universities are stuck behind the notorious & arbitrary walls of administrative processing (AP), while regime officials and their families come and go as they please.

America🇺🇸has countless natural, great, and determined allies amongst Iran's educated youth, and by admitting qualified students, we can help expand this invaluable network, not to mention these students won't cost the American taxpayer a dime (their education must be and is funded).

Imagine the injection of thousands of highly skilled doctors, engineers, scientists, and researchers into the American economy when the need for high skilled workers is at an all time high.

My office has successfully litigated and resolved a number of AP cases, but far too many remain outstanding across the board, and these talented students will soon lose their admission offers. In other words, all is lost soon unless US officials take immediate action to address this matter.

I urge the @StateDept @DHSgov @TheJusticeDept @FBI @SecMayorkas @SecBlinken @USEmbassyTurkey @usembarmenia @USAinUAE to resolve these issues in time, and allow for admission to the US of those student visas who have been thoroughly vetted.

Academia must be kept inclusive and protected from politics. The nationality of students must not be a barrier to their valuable contributions to research and education.

For months, more than 700 Iranian Students, admitted to US universities to pursue their graduate studies, have been waiting for their student visas.

This long administrative process for issuing student visas not only hurts the future of these talented students, but also creates uncertainty for their professors, universities, and research funding agencies.

Please join me in asking the relevant authorities to speed up visa processes. This will help academia provide equal opportunities to ALL well-deserving applicants, irrespective of their birth places, which were out of their control!
