Self-reflection has a built-in flaw.

The builder remembers every constraint and can rationalize mediocre work. A fresh reviewer has no attachment to those decisions. It sees only the output and the bar it must clear.

AI agents didn’t eliminate downtime. They moved it inside the IDE.
