Hello everyone. Let me reintroduce myself.
I am Christian Ven Emery, a Ghanaian diagnostic radiographer and First Class graduate undertaking a fully funded PhD in the UK without a Master’s.
For 8 weeks I will share lessons on scholarships, research publishing and PhD life.
Applications for Master’s and PhD programmes are closing soon.
Take advantage of this window, even if you doubt your chances. Do not count yourself out before you have even applied.
You never know; you might be precisely the candidate they are looking for.
All the best!
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
From @elonmusk flying Roadster to scientists turning mercury into GOLD! 🚀🥇
Physics is getting interesting!
@MarathonFusion claims to have achieved what ancient alchemists dreamed of for centuries.
But how is that even possible? ⚛️
I break down the science here 👇

My fourth publication arising from my PhD is now published in Radiography.
What prepares a diagnostic radiographer to provide safe, dignified and equitable imaging when a patient is transferred from prison to an acute hospital?
Phase One of the EXPOSE Study showed what diagnostic radiographers encounter in practice. This paper asks the next question: has radiography education prepared them for it?
Formal preparation was limited across students, educators and practising radiographers. Participants identified safety and procedural knowledge, communication and psychosocial care as educational priorities.
The findings support proportionate integration through academic teaching, simulation, supervised clinical learning, continuing professional development and departmental guidance.
Phase One made the clinical encounter visible. This paper moves the conversation towards what must change.
Written with Professor Joanne Brooke and Olanrewaju Lawal, PhD.

Your academic CV matters.
If you are unsure what to include, how to present your research experience, or how to build a strong CV with limited experience, this is worth saving.
A useful resource from @Halosznn_
I put together a guide for anyone applying for scholarships, Master’s programmes, PhDs, fellowships, research opportunities, and other academic programmes.
It covers how to structure your academic CV, what to include, how to present research experience and projects, and how to build a strong CV even if you have limited experience.
You’re welcome 💗
