Paul Sztorc’s eCash (ECX) is a Bitcoin hard fork that will activate Drivechains (BIP 300/301).

It launches in phases: Alpha around Aug 23 (block ~963,648), Beta ~Sep 20, and the permanent mainnet on ~Oct 31. BTC holders get a 1:1 airdrop of ECX (Bitcoin itself is unchanged).

No major miners have publicly committed to mining it yet — difficulty resets at launch so early blocks will be easy. No real futures or spot markets exist yet (only Solana memecoins). Replay protection is opt-in.

Honestly I think the Drivechains #Bitcoin fork could hold some water, but honestly I think it's off to a bad start with choosing eCash as the name. Not only is there another cryptocurrency called eCash, but its what Bitcoiners call Chaumian eCash! There'll be a lot of confusion with @fedimint and @CashuBTC, so on that premise alone I think it's a bad name.

That said, Drivechains have merit and so I think this fork will be vastly more successful than the BIP110 fork (which was destined to be a huge failure)
