We just wrapped up #WorldImmunizationWeek and #AfricaVaccinationWeek, and we caught up with Omotayo from our team in Nigeria about what immunization work looks like for her on the ground.
Her focus is clear: the children we’re still trying to reach, especially girls who need vaccines like HPV that can protect them later in life.
She’s seeing real momentum, with stronger local partnerships, more services reaching communities, and a shared push to make sure no child is left out.
For her, progress means vaccines are available, health workers are supported, and parents feel confident bringing their children forward.
Watch what she shared below.

The opportunity is clear with HPV:
🔷 HPV vaccines can prevent most cervical cancer cases, but inequitable access is a crisis.
🔷 The @WHO’s one-dose recommendation offers a vital pathway to reach more girls and women in low- and middle-income countries.
🔷 To protect the health of girls and women, it’s critical that we increase HPV vaccine access and support country rollouts.
Dying from a preventable disease is one of the starkest forms of inequity.

Onyebe Ella (@EllaOnyebe), a gifted hearing-impaired artist, channels the pain of malaria-related loss into purpose through her data-inspired artwork, “Guided by Stars.”
Donated to the Malaria Consortium (@FightingMalaria), the piece stands as a striking symbol of hope, resilience, and the urgent need for action.
On this World Malaria Day, we are reminded that the fight against malaria is not just a health campaign; it’s a global responsibility with profound implications for life, equity, and progress.

Important! CDC has posted county-specific information, including on percent of Covid PCR tests that are positive and other important data. This is very useful. Glad to see it in the public domain now!
