She called for expanding the tax base, rolling out the National Health Insurance Scheme, and strengthening multisectoral collaboration to close funding gaps and improve service delivery.

Dr. Hafiswa Lukwata, the Assistant Commissioner for Health Services in charge of Mental Health and Control of Substance Use at the Ministry of Health, Uganda. Also referred to as "Mama Mental Health," has officially opened the 4th Mental Health Conference at Hotel Africana in Kampala today!

She has highlighted on social media's impact on our mental well-being, especially for the children, as a critical concern.

She also noted that @MinofHealthUG is boosting medicine availability, but she stressed that therapy and psychosocial support are crucial and often the first line of treatment.

She has encouraged the practitioners to be committed to fostering mental well-being in Uganda. #MentalHealthAwareness
