As crappy as it is, they do tell you that number upfront if you put your address in on the website, but obviously not in person. I’ve seen the demand surcharge as high as $1000 in some areas, but a few miles away it is $250. It has to do with how full that particular area’s coverage is.
In practice, you can avoid the charge by either selecting Roam (more expensive per month and lower priority, but it allows you to move the dish when you go camping or need internet on vacation, or priority (faster speeds but charges in blocks of 50 or 500gb).
@TESLA_winston Very stupid design imho - it’ll send the handle flying every time the car finishes charging. I could see Tesla having a problem with these.
@jeremyjudkins_ No, that option has been gone for 6+ months. Shows subscription only for me, although I’m finally going to take advantage and trade in w/ FSD transfer.
@wholemars@DirtyTesLa How about letting us customize them? 14.1.4 is way too fast. I want chill speed profiles with hurry style maneuvering. Standard going 42 in a 25 is not good.
