The average life expectancy of a new Russian recruit—from arrival at a training ground to death in a combat zone—lies somewhere between 10 days and three weeks. Once sent onto the battlefield, they survive an average of 20 to 35 minutes. @peterfrankopan https://t.co/W3UhBerdH0
I haven't studied it in detail, but from what I have seen, the natural experiment that Buenos Aires ran over the past six years seems like yet more clear evidence that rent control limits supply and (ironically) raises rents.
Ukraine will not relent, but I expect those who demanded that Kyiv should make major concessions while Ukraine endured WW2 siege conditions last winter will now demand that Ukraine stops its campaign for “humanitarian” reasons.
Another factually wrong statement is that it's taxpayer $
Church St Pilot is funded by the BIA, section 37 funds (developer contributions), in-kind donations from community organization, private sponsorships, and grants. It’s on the website as well.

The left needs to move past the idea that like, 20 people are primarily responsible for CO2 emissions. It's untrue.
The global top 10% by income emit ~49% of CO2, and the top 25% ~70% of CO2. But 60.4% of Americans **are in that top 10%.** Nearly all, ~87% are in the top 25%.
@ExtremeCen80240@EricDLombardi I’m aware of the facts but thanks anyways. It’s not clear what your criticism is. That this project should go through but with the affordable units as market rate instead?
@RasJazzy@kinsellawarren@MayorOliviaChow A 6% increase is very different from a 6 percentage point difference. 6% increase on 1.4% would be 1.48%. 1.4% to 7% is a 4x increase, aka 400% increase.
You might need to brush up on middle school math.
@ExtremeCen80240@EricDLombardi Sounds like 65 more affordable units than are there now!
TCHC owns market rate housing too. Public doesnt necessarily mean subsidized. Is there anything you opine on that you aren’t ignorant about?
Bradford loves this city so much that he sits out important urban planning votes aimed at making it a more vibrant, accessible, interesting place to live. A truly inspiring candidate!!
@ExtremeCen80240@integrity_to Just think it through, you want 50k for every capital project. So councillors wont get it back until the end of the project? They need 50k to put in every time? Interest free so they’re just losing money to inflation for years? Again, it just means no projects proposed ever.
@ExtremeCen80240@integrity_to You said you wanted 50k bond on every capital project. Parks upkeep is an operating expense. Those are two different revenue streams. Do you understand how our city works?
High park was pretty nice last weekend when i was there tbh. Could be nicer, sure.
@ExtremeCen80240@integrity_to But your proposal wouldnt fix Parks, because those are operating expenses, not capital projects which were proposed lol. You’re showing the holes in your own idea.
Why not propose this for the province which wastes much more of our tax dollars on shit like a 0.5B garage
@Janelle_Brady_@CdnChange Please resign 👍. Hard to imagine Id go back to voting ONDP if it’s just NIMBYs against publicly owned affordable housing in charge.
[Toronto, ON] Anti-Development e-petition being circulated by the current President of the @OntarioNDP 🟠-- who is apparently "Against" a new rental apartment building for TCHC (@TOHousing) and @FredVictorTO in #RegentPark..?!?!
@ExtremeCen80240@integrity_to And if we dont build any housing or repair any roads then we wouldnt have to deal with any construction, but somehow that also doesnt seem like an outcome that’d be particularly good for the city.
Projects often go over budget in the private sector… have you never worked in it?
