@JasonFitz1 Agree to disagree. I’m not posting or bragging my PBs/PRs anywhere. But when I’m deep in marathon training and run a Strava best 10k, you bet I’m feeling myself. Also, have never raced a 10k so….
@l_deliberto I was up early to run nearly every day of residency. It was the only time of the day that was truly “mine”. It gave me a sense of control and made sure I didn’t sacrifice my priorities for a job. Keep it up!
@realgirl_fieri I nurse my kids to sleep until they are done with it. My son was just shy of 3 when he stopped, my daughter is still going strong. I work all day and it feels like a special time for us.
@emilykmay Our town has “big truck day” where the corporation yard opens to the public and kids can climb on snowplows, tractors, sand piles, buses, etc. It’s a dream.
@jbcarmody I guess the question is… as long as the test is equal difficulty, does it matter if people score better/more pass? So long as essential knowledge is learned and demonstrated, it seems fine.
@nikillinit@gsbedi Didn’t the NYU free tuition just start this year? I would imagine it would take 3-4 years to draw conclusions about specialty decisions.
@realgirl_fieri Because they don’t have time or energy! Although, to be fair, I think being a stay at home mom is way harder than working sometimes. Yes, the logistics of it can be hard, but I get a break and sense of accomplishment outside of my kid actually eating lunch
@JohnSug@wser Does it change much if you use Auburn temp instead of Olympic valley? Because of the temperature inversion in the valley, there’s isn’t always great correlation between the two.
@MarketPalmer_ Leave at 4AM and cover the back windows. Kids will sleep for 3-4 hours and you’ll be halfway there. Stop for breakfast and some wiggles and continue. At that age, sometimes it helps to have an adult back there. But sometimes harder!
@olsonplanner This is a great explanation. One potential caveat… if your employer has a second type of plan (ie 457b plus 401a) then you don’t subtract the 23k from the 69k max since you can contribute maximally to both!
@EruditeElf My suspicion, this is immediately after a code event where 1 mg of Epi was given. So, watch closely but give it a few minutes to dissipate. Also, the patient is not being ventilated and the apnea alarm is off…. Or they are on cardiac bypass/ECMO. There is more to this story
@MKIttlesonMD I think I’d let the patient do whatever they please through the schedulers. It’s their right to have the doctor they feel the best connection with when possible. But I wouldn’t guarantee anything.
