That's what other prop firms do by forcing you to forfeit 100% of your profits and start live from $0, with a tiny max loss limit.

At Topstep you start with a minimum of $10,000 (or $5,000 if you go live from a 25k account) and a maximum of $30,000 and you can unlock up to $120,000 more.

TopstepX had a 99.999% uptime until yesterday so far in 2026.

Yesterdays issue wasn't fun, but they resolved it for everyone that was negatively impacted.

Calling it "unserious" is a bit of a stretch IMO, other platforms, such as Tradovate for example, had more and more serious outages so far this year.

TopstepX has been one of the most stable platforms all year, unfortunately yesterday happened, but they made it right.
