@benzgreenfield We use a different luach (specific to Conservative shuls), but I literally emailed our minyan leaders today to say, "come pick up your beautifully salmon-colored 5783 luach!"
@RutiRegan Not really. There are lots of contexts where my first name is 100% appropriate, but if we’re being formal enough to use titles, use the right one.
Went to the @RabbiAssembly website to find a teshuvah and discovered that their 5779 Pesach Guide is up. It’s a great resource but I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS.
My husband’s secret Santa at work left him gelt and a card that says “zos hanukkah sameach.” If I didn’t know that 100% of his coworkers aren’t Jewish, I’d have thought that this one was pretty frum.
Front Office Happenings:
A college student called to ask about attending weekday minyan for a class assignment. Kudos to the smart professor who assigned minyan rather than Shabbat services so the students can take notes
Faith in humanity moment of the day: I was running for the bus, and some teens who had just gotten off saw me and ran and yelled for the driver to wait for me. He did, and we both smiled and laughed as I got on the bus. Thanks, kids.
I can tell that the High Holidays are close because...
1. Family services are planned 2. Sermons are mostly written 3. There are kugels in the freezer 4. I have my annual high holiday head cold. #whatrabbisdo#busiesttimeoftheyear#elulproblems#shanahtovah
