Have something similar built for my own needs. Built a react app, equipped with @zero__ms for instant feeling of everything.

Wanted different UX's to trigger different kinds of tasks, work, etc.. So one part looks very much like Linear, another like chats, it also has a Docs (Notion like) UI where I can also store stuff and trigger tasks. Everything is in my own database so no need to be connecting multiple products around for AI context, app just has it.

Tasks are done remotely in VPS's that run coding sessions with open code.

Love the capabilities this wave is creating!

Even if AI is superhuman at doing every digital task, that doesn’t mean it’s doing all digital tasks yet as we’re slow to adapt.

So an interesting question is also how long until AI does all digital tasks?

My answer is the same as it takes us to get to singularity, as every task eventually will be at least digitally interfaced.

Economy’s heuristic is to produce what people want determined by the willingness to pay.

What people are willing to pay for is not the same as the greatest improvements in life, I agree there. But the answer to that question is what’s tricky. The natural idea usually is top down decision making instead of the economy’s decentralized willingness to pay decision system. It has not worked.

What you’re saying is that a high leverage move is that of higher valence pilling for the nodes with higher weights in the decentralized system, I like it!

But if you were to propose a new system itself what would be the premise of it?

This exchange is unnecessary. It’s obvious the most qualified person should get the job.

But it’s also obvious that if your company’s mission is American defense, someone who’s not a us citizen would be automatically unqualified.

I’m in Madrid now, used to be in Mexico City. In both places I see resistance for people earning US salaries.

I think the best non US cities have the issue of long term locals vs rich newcomers going on and it will increasingly grow, I believe.

Even if after Covid we saw a reduction in remote work, I think it’s temporal, long term most income will not be attached to geography.

Indie hackers, remote workers, remote startup founders is a population subset that will continue to grow until best cities worldwide have the highest earners even though they’re just making money on digital interfaces.

If cities don’t build more, it will be a harsh displacement of long time locals. But if they allow more housing, cities will change and may not longer be what was attractive in the first place.

I vote for building more! But not sure if there’s another way around that predicament

The more “critical” we consider something to be, the worse we actually perform. This sense of criticality makes the collective think we need “better” and “more” regulation for it.

The unintuitive truth is it always turns out that if we want better and cheaper services we just need to leave it to market forces.

I’d say AI has not been less impactful than iPhone in consumer, it literally is how most people consume content these days for example. The short video format was only enabled because of AI.

The issue is that AI sits at the creation and recommendation layer, which is various layers of abstraction behind from the consumer mind in almost all cases:

- The feed algorithm is behind the app which is behind the device
- Self driving algorithm is behind the car
- Coding models are behind the 40th meal planning/plant gardening/calorie tracker app

This is an issue cause it means that even if AI solves cancer, in consumer mind it will not be attributed to it, but rather to the specific drug or treatments we create using AI.

Not sure how to solve this, but without it it’s not clear how to paint a techno optimist future for most people —which cause of normal brain patterns, think the world is getting worse and data centers are the devil
