⚡ TERI Organises Stakeholder Workshop and Valedictory Programme under Future-In-Charge

TERI, with support from Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India (MBRDI), organised a stakeholder workshop on “Accelerating EV Charging Infrastructure through Industry-Led Skilling Partnerships” and the Valedictory Programme of Future-In-Charge at TERI Southern Regional Centre, Bengaluru, on 24 August 2026.

The workshop brought together stakeholders to discuss India’s evolving EV charging ecosystem and strategies for addressing the sector’s skill gap through industry-led partnerships. Mr Navaneeth Raghu (MBRDI), Dr G Rudra Narsimha Rao, Mr @sharifqamar and Dr PK Bhattacharya (TERI) contributed to the discussions.

The valedictory programme highlighted the outcomes of the Future-In-Charge initiative, which combined theoretical and practical training with On-the-Job Training (OJT) supported by VisionAstraa. The programme also featured Ms Pallavi Singh (TERI), Mr Yedu Jathavedan (VisionAstraa Group) and Ms Deepti Kharbanda (Dronacharya Tech-Hub).

The initiative reinforced the importance of industry–academia collaboration and demand-driven skilling for India’s electric mobility transition.

🌱Marking World Nature Conservation Day (28 July 2026), TERI-EIACP, in collaboration with Skill Samariddhi and with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, organised a Community Awareness Programme on 29 July 2026 in Jasola, New Delhi, on the theme “From Waste to Resource: Building a Sustainable Future Towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047.”

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr Amit Bidhuri, State Executive Member, OBC Morcha, Delhi Pradesh.

It featured expert sessions by
▪️ Ms Pallavi Shukla, Fellow, TERI, on the EIACP Scheme and Mission LiFE;
▪️ Mr Sagar Chaudhary, Founder, Skill Samariddhi, on community concerns and local waste management challenges;
▪️ Mr Braham Singh, Councillor, Madanpur Khadar West, on MCD initiatives;
▪️ Dr Deepak Yadav, Founder, Sustainable System Design Enterprises, on waste segregation and disposal challenges;
▪️ Mr Kuldeep Choudhary, Programme Officer, National Institute of Urban Affairs, on decentralised waste processing and home composting; and
▪️ Ms Krishnapriya Nair, Research Associate, TERI, on circular economy and resource efficiency.

The programme encouraged participants to adopt responsible waste management practices, embrace circular economy principles, and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 through sustainable lifestyles and collective environmental action.

☀️ TERI, with support from the Natural Resources Defense Council (@NRDC) and in collaboration with local partner Seven Look Organisation, successfully conducted a five-day training programme on “Climate Resilience & Livelihood Generation through Solar Technology Adoption” from 8th-12th June 2026 at Kamalpur Block, Kalajol Chowk, Baihata Chariali, Kamrup, Assam.

The programme brought together local women and Self-Help Group (SHG) members engaged in agriculture and allied sectors, with a focus on enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable livelihoods through clean energy solutions. Participants gained valuable insights into climate change adaptation, solar-powered technologies for rural enterprises, government support schemes, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Technical sessions were delivered by experts, including Mr Kartik Chandra Sarmah (former AEDA), Mr Bhupen Deka (AEDA), Mr Palash Goswami; Mr Md Ayez Ali, Associate Professor, Kamrup College; TERI experts Dr Dipankar Saharia, Dr PK Bhattacharya, Ms Pallavi Singh, and Dr Apurva Malik; along with @NRDC_India experts Mr Deepesh Tourani and Mr Rana Pujari.

As part of the hands-on learning experience, participants visited Kamrup College to observe demonstrations of solar dryers, solar panels, solar pumps, organic farming practices, and greenhouse-based horticulture systems, showcasing practical applications of sustainable technologies.

The programme concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony in the presence of Dr @sahariadipankar, Programme Director, TERI; Dr PK Bhattacharya, Director, TERI; Dr Apurva Malik, Consultant, TERI; Mr Deepesh Tourani, Research Associate, NRDC; and Mr Rana Pujari, Lead, NRDC, who encouraged participants to adopt clean energy solutions for strengthening livelihoods and building resilient communities.

A special plantation drive was led by Councillor Mr Anil Kumar Sharma and Ms @Ash90576Manisha, symbolising the community’s commitment towards environmental conservation. The programme also included an environmental pledge by participants and distribution of awareness pamphlets to promote sustainable practices at the grassroots level.

India's EV Future is Getting Charged Up⚡

TERI is thrilled to announce the successful inaugural session of "Future-In-Charge: Skilling Program for India’s Charging Infrastructure”. This one-month residential training, jointly organized by TERI with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), @moefcc, @iitdelhi, and @evitechnologies, officially kicked off on November 3, 2025, at the TERI Retreat Centre, Gurugram.

The program brings together experts, trainers, and passionate participants dedicated to building India’s capacity in the rapidly evolving Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem.

Dr Amit Kumar Thakur, Associate Director, TERI, highlighted how skill-based learning and entrepreneurship will drive employment and innovation in the green mobility sector. Mr Kapil Muddineni (@muddineni_kapil), Fellow, TERI, addressed the growing demand for skilled professionals and the need for aligned training programs to bridge the workforce gap.

Ms Pallavi Singh (@pallavis16), Fellow, TERI, stressed the vital role of hands-on skill development in achieving India's clean mobility goals. Ms N Deepa, Fellow, TERI, provided an insightful overview of the month-long training designed to enhance technical, operational, and entrepreneurial competencies in EV charging.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr @akif_farooqui, Manager, TERI, who appreciated the contributions of all speakers, partners, and participants.

TERI-EIACP (@terieiacp23) successfully conducted the ‘Breath of Change’ workshop, organized in collaboration with @SulabhIntl, @WWFINDIA, and @JNU_EIACP. It brought together residents, students, and community leaders in Harkesh Nagar, Okhla, for a day dedicated to tackling air pollution and promoting sustainable waste management.

The workshop featured an energetic awareness rally that united the community for cleaner air. Dr PK Bhattacharya (TERI-EIACP) highlighted the importance of Mission LiFE and our collective environmental responsibility. It also included hands-on sessions on waste management from Sulabh and a powerful skit by the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (@JNU_official_50), that underscored the need for behavioural change.

It's clear that making a real impact on our environment isn't just an individual choice—it's a community movement. This workshop was a testament to what we can achieve when we come together.
