Kapil Sibal: "How can this be? How can they shut down the whole of Delhi? My Lords, the entire city of Delhi is being shut down tomorrow by the government. Fifty-seven metro stations are being closed, the internet is being shut down, and nothing is working.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohana was hearing the petitions filed by CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby and other petitioners challenging the curbs imposed by the authorities ahead of the protests.

There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.
