One of the easiest ways to capture more law firm leads is to create content for practice area keywords your website is already ranking for.
Go to Google Search Console --> Performance --> Analyze the Queries column.
Either create a new page or optimize an existing one.
These are quick-wins!
As usual @atishayhyperke was brilliant in today's @clay_gtm session for beginners. He gave the 101 version of GTM in about an hour (FAQs included) .
One particular rubric I took away was --
=== The 4-step “stop them in their tracks” formula ===
Use it when you're crafting the next outreach message.
1 // Why you (the recipient)?
Tell about the public signals that reveal their spoken and unspoken challenges and why do you care about them...
Show them this isn’t another row in a CSV.
2 // Why this?
why are you giving this particular offer (or solution)... how it is designed make the recipient's life, work, day a little more bearable, profitable or fun
3 // Why you (the sender)?
what makes you uniquely qualified to send this message
4 // Why now?
What's happening right now in the larger world, in their industry or the business - that's possibly hurting their ability to create or deliver value, attract prospects, keep selling at a fair price and stay profitable
Put the four together, and a cold email can go from:
“We help law firms automate client intake…”
to something closer to:
Hi John, I noticed you’re hiring a receptionist while also advertising 24/7 client support.
That suggests your team is handling more intake than a business-hours front desk can comfortably cover.
We recently built an AI front-office system for an Australian law firm. It qualifies new enquiries, answers routine questions, books consultations, takes payments, and routes urgent matters to a lawyer.
Thought it might be relevant given the 24/7 support you advertise. Would it be useful if I sent over a short overview?
---
That’s a very different kind of cold email.
The big takeaway for me:
Personalisation isn’t mentioning something about the prospect.
It is constructing a credible chain of reasoning:
I noticed X → which probably creates Y → therefore I’m suggesting Z → and here’s why I’m worth listening to → especially now.
That feels like a much better way to think about GTM than “find leads + add first-line personalisation."
Who created the world’s first copywriting framework?
The Buddha.
Don’t believe me?
Meet the “4 Noble Truths Framework”:
1/ The problem
2/ How did it arise?
3/ What does the problem’s end look like?
4/ How to go from step 2 to step 3?
Critics of educational email courses: we'd teach stuff for free, and the reader would implement stuff on their own.
On the contrary, your course should simply set the stage for working with you.
This approach is straight from direct response principles.
It works!
@wolfgangsmyname I think the course needs to include both information and sales aspects.
Five shots give you the chance to establish the superiority of your “approach”.
Damaging admission can get more students apply with you. Before they bring it up, you take it to them!
You might tell:
- you work only with tier 3 colleges
- they could apply themselves
- you have no secret hacks
- about your failure rate
Brutal honesty is attractive.
