Really excited to share this. A massive effort from @mulecc.
We find that H-NS isn't just for gene silencing. All this time it's been busy capturing transposons, and inserting them into bound DNA.
We think there are some big implications (1/4)

Great work done by @Another_Goodman, @MikeBrouwer1984, @GCAGATGCAATG. Really happy to see how the pBACpAK entrapment vector could show the dynamics of ISApl1 and its role in the movement of mcr-1 transposon.

Despite its past success, the field of #antibiotics must turn to new investments and innovations in alternatives to overcome financial disincentives, drug resistance, and other future challenges, argues a new Review in @ScienceTM. https://t.co/ZZ8TnMleDb
We are looking to hire a Post-Doctoral Bacteriologist for 3 years to work on our @iiconNW funded antimicrobial discovery project. It is at the interface between academia and industry. Closing date 26th August. https://t.co/TtF4CfroPp
NEW—Typhoid-causing bacteria have become increasingly resistant to essential antibiotics and have spread widely over past 30 years.

A year ago, a non-academic friend listened to a talk I gave. I thought it went great. My friend disagreed.
She said that academics are experts at making interesting stuff boring—and that we should all take a speech class.
So I did. And here are 6 most useful things I learned.
This is really scary, I can’t imagine the fear that I’d feel receiving these results. #AMR is not some abstract or future threat. It’s real and it’s already here. A whole myriad of stakeholders are crucial to curb AMR, and young people from all disciplines have an important role.
