@katSam93@JHWeissmann Women do make up 70% of all MI voters, but that doesn’t prove most find Haley inspiring or that she sounds like them. To the contrary, many Michiganders of both genders have questioned whether her accent is real. I’m a Lansing area native and think it’s real though not common
@katSam93@JHWeissmann Can you kindly share verifiable data showing your claim that women generally find Stevens’ speeches inspiring? And actually, it’s millions of voters who could potentially vote in the primary and the general.
@bluedoggeosh@james_violette@Monie625 What does El-Sayed need to talk about a successful bailout that happened more than ten years ago? This native Michigander born and educated in my beloved native state, go Williamston Hornets and EMU Eagles, wants to your ties to Michigan, sir.

@bluedoggeosh@james_violette@Monie625 I hate AIPAC. I don’t support Israel’s “right” to existence, but I do support a two-state solution that includes a viable West Bank without carved out apartheid roads for illegal swttlements. Am I antisemitic, sir?
@moorehn Older, less complex appliances have remarkable longevity. My gas furnace is original to my home, manufactured in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the 80s. The company went out of business some time afterwards, probably due to competition from cheaper imports.
@moorehn Gen X here. 70s and 90s were the best decades for music. Great collections of distinct genres and styles. I came of age in the early 80s and have some faves from my high school years, but 80s music mostly sucked, especially mid/end of the decade. Ditto for hair and clothing.
@RogueCfpb@daveweigel I’m aware, and no, I didn’t leave them out. They’ll vote overwhelmingly for Stevens in the primary, but they’re not going to vote for Rogers in the general. Whether or not some sit out like progressives did in 2024 with Harris remains to be seen.
@treeaston@AJentleson I wrote about M4A and universal health care models on a Michigan progressives page yesterday. Will share the link. Thank you for writing this. Gained a new follower.
@RachelAzzara@PeterRB1965@daveweigel Makes perfect sense. AIPAC prefers Stevens to El-Sayed in the primary and Rogers to Stevens in the genealogy because a GOP-controlled Senate is more favorable to Israel.
@SpamAcc93775191@PinyerdMatt@ShitlibSupreme Or different membership demographics. Ford’s headquarters are in Dearborn, whose large Muslim community dates back to workers brought over from Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.
@PeterRB1965@daveweigel This this this! AIPAC prefers Stevens over El-Sayed and Rogers over Stevens as a GOP-controlled Senate is more favorable to Israel.
@Azrael007x@KyleKulinski Michigan native here. That is her real accent, but she does not sound like a normal politician. Her speech and delivery are over the top, and that’s why she’s being mocked by social media users across the political spectrum.
@SwannMarcus89 What do you know about the MI senate race? I’m from MI and follow several state media and group pages. Establishment Dems and progressives going hard against each other with some on each side saying they won’t vote for the other candidate in the general. Israel is the divider
@SwannMarcus89 Whoever wins will face Mike Rogers, an unpopular MAGA loyalist with no charisma and mocked for spending most of his time in Florida. I’ve been following the race closely and think independents will swing for the Dem. They won’t care about Abdul’s defund the police comments.
