@DisTwitrPodcast@GreenCheetah99 Weird, isn’t it? “Here is our HUGE version of Disneyland (MK) with a version of Pirates that is literally cut in half.”
@_SavoyTrufflez_@DeeMagicGurl Was sold on MK being the “bigger and better” Disneyland when I was 12 only to become traumatized by their ridiculously neutered PotC.
@dlnt “Jungle Cruise is not on a traditional rail or track, but moves through water channels thanks to propulsion mechanisms and manual steering by a skipper.”
Huh? They are on a guide track and the boat is not freely steered by the skipper.
@PeterSciretta True, though China began airing video of mass street disinfecting and people suddenly collapsing in early January. Mainstream media begin showing this footage by the 24th. Given Disney’s presence in China, I would imagine Iger was privy to information before the public was. 🤷♂️
@JimShull Hey Jim, quick question. Are you going to read Chapek’s book? Being a life long Disney fan, I decided I will. I would like to get another perspective on things during those tumultuous years.
@PNS2CLT@Doctors__TARDIS Also imagine the budget for this. With the “new” Tomorrowland on the horizon, this doesn’t seem practical. Let’s not even get into what would need to be shutdown and inaccessible for years for such an undertaking.
@MyFriendJ0SH I’ve been on the wrong end of Disneyland security while recording a walk off. I was lynched and interrogated with them making sure I deleted everything. I am fine with that, but the way they came at me like I was a major criminal was really uncomfortable.
@JimShull “The removal was a reduction in the quality of the guest experience, lowering the hotel to a more common standard. Nice today but not Disney.”
You can apply that statement across the board, not just hotels, when it comes to modern-day Disney.
@BrerOswald@Michael35828464 As a Disneyland guy, I can honestly say that the only time I felt “at home” when at MK was when I was in Frontierland. It is terribly sad what they are doing to it now.
