This decision changes the course for public education in SK. It not only states that teachers can bargain on class complexity, but it includes provisions for much needed supports for students and schools.
Teachers, you did this! Be proud of the impact of your words and actions.
“If the Saskatchewan gov’t is serious about not failing our kids, it could start by…addressing class size and complexity, and…perhaps most importantly, ensure no one in our province lives in poverty.”

Tomorrow, I’ll be voting for public education.
I’ve made my choice from reading platforms, listening to candidates, and determining who will support all children by:
-improving public education funding
-addressing class complexity
-working to prevent classroom violence
St Paul’s ER: 41 admitted patients with no bed, using multiple Ambulatory Care beds, hallway beds, waiting room treatment. Short staff. Every hospital floor has hallway beds, except 1 unit in covid outbreak. "Leadership knew capacity was critical yesterday yet didn't act" #skpoli
Over the last 10 yrs, we have 15K more students and only 10 more teachers… Yes, we need capital investment for renovated or new schools. But, we need operating budget increases above enrolment and inflation rates for there to be a real investment in students and education.
One solution to address class complexity-

@PremierScottMoe How many ground breaking ceremonies are there going to be?
Is there some sort of golden shovel quota in play here?

🚩Don't be fooled! The Teacher Support and Innovation Fund has supported only 40 projects. We have 13,500 teachers, so ~ 0.3% are being supported with this fund.
These aren't the stats I would be celebrating.
@PremierScottMoe Teacher hunger games commence. Could you imagine a scenario where only a handful of farmers at a time were able to receive crop insurance? Teachers and schools having to apply to a lottery for supports is absolutely abhorrent.
Hard to understand how so many directors of education in Saskatchewan got to where they are without a basic understanding of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Also, it’s sad how quickly some forget where they came from.
