@ryankatzrosene same to your south in the Mid-Atlantic. In the 90s I don't EVER remember wildfire smoke in the sky being a thing. Now it happens every summer.
@tjl@JHWeissmann@AqueductCRE yeah personal AVs are a different ball-game, for sure. But I think this mostly would reduce the number of human ride-share drivers servicing the District itself. When I've used Waymo in Austin (through the Uber app), most of the rideshares operating within the city were Waymo
@tjl@JHWeissmann@AqueductCRE yeah - it's a fleet of much safer cars. Drivers here are among the worst in the nation - including Uber/ride share drivers. The more of them we can get off the road, the better. Waymos help in this regard.
@alexbaca@DemolishSEblvd@ggwash you all kinda lost me after the Trayon White endorsement, if we're being honest - but regarding Waymos, have you ridden in one? I agree we need fewer cars - but this isn't a trade-off between cars / no cars. It's distracted Uber drivers vs the most cautious vehicles on the road
@JHWeissmann yeah this is 100% my point. Look, I want as few cars as possible - of course. But we are going to have cars in the city. And if we have to have cars in the city, I want the fewest number of human drivers possible lol. I mean, does this really need any more explanation?
@TheWSHLobbyist My main issue with Charleys (aside from being a chain) is that they put mayo on their cheesesteaks by default - which... try that on South St.
