@USDOL@JANatJAN “Lingering effects” was probably workshopped by DOL’s legal and comms depts, but it’s clear the phrase wasn’t run by those with LC. My COVID was mild, but the aftermath has completely changed my life. Pls listen to what ppl in this thread are saying & reconsider your phrasing.
"Long COVID stemmed from mild cases of COVID-19 in most people, according to a new multicountry study"
"We found that a staggering 90% of people living with long COVID initially experienced only mild illness with COVID-19."

“This guidance…helps us move to a point where COVID-19 no longer severely disrupts our daily lives.”
Fifty days ago, I was a fit, independent 36yo. Today, I live with my parents because my post-COVID symptoms are so bad that I can’t take care of myself.
BREAKING: CDC guidelines have been revised and COVID rules have been relaxed. The new guidance lifts the requirement to quarantine if exposed to the virus, deemphasizes screening people with no symptoms and updates COVID-19 protocols in schools. https://t.co/YJ4RBxeDGN
I think abt the people in the future who will catch COVID so no one else will have their lives “seriously disrupted.”
Wear your mask. Get vaxxed and boosted. Test yourself if you think you’ve been exposed. Test again for false negs (if you are able). Be responsible. Please.
To be clear, I’m so grateful to Dr Newton at @MDExpressva in Williamsburg for being flexible and prescribing the anti-virals even though I’m past the time limit. A very kind & empathetic physician. And TY science for those vaccines and boosters. I’d be in the hospital w/o you.
I’ve been dealing with COVID for 8 days. 8 days of coughing, sore throat, fevers, chest pain, shortness of breath, “COVID tongue,” loneliness & related mental issues. And now when a doc finally gets me on anti-virals, I get “PAXLOVID mouth.” If I could breathe, I’d die laughing.
Yikes. Car accident just north of the Georgia Ave-Colesville Rd intersection in #SilverSpring. Police, fire, ambulance - the whole nine. It doesn’t look like anyone’s hurt, but one of those cars isn’t going to drive away on its own.
N98CL, a Bell 206-L-4, is circling over Silver Spring at 600 feet, speed 9 MPH, squawking 5277, 0.1 miles from Cole Spring Plaza Apartments https://t.co/iDn1V9L87y
Just sobbed my way thru the finale of @sketchshark’s #Centaurworld. Dealing w/ a poss COVID situation & all the emotions frm the last 2+ yrs exploded out of me. I’m grateful for it, even if my lil catharsis is just a backstory-magic fart in the face of an unrelenting world.
