My World Archaeology paper has just been published online! On 'Contagious objects: artefacts of disease transmission and control at North Head Quarantine Station, Australia'.

@Brocklesnitch She worked there back in the 70s but I went once as a kid while visiting my grandparents and it was pretty fancy (normally they took us to Sizzler)
So she was fine when Labor nominated her for the election
And fine when she sat in the senate for 2 years as a Labor senator
But the afternoon she quits the party - suddenly "Labor figures" have had a stunning revelation that they've had to alert the papers about
🙃🙃🙃
so they were fine with it when they chose her as a candidate but now it's a problem that she's quit?
also not sure what more they could do if they can't contact the Taliban!
It’s Endometriosis Awareness month, aimed at raising awareness of a disease that takes so much from so many of us. I wrote this piece in hospital five years ago, and since then have had more surgery, several ruptured ovarian cysts and an ectopic pregnancy 🧵
@karaschlegl Looks like jujube/Chinese date/red date - I've seen the fresh ones around the last few weeks but more commonly see them dried at Asian supermarkets
Why are doctors still telling women with endometriosis to become pregnant? Wrote about some really disappointing new research and what might happen if we thought about the uterus like we do other organs

Hold on - journalists who’ve been gifted trips to Israel paid for by the Israeli gov are free to report on the Israel/Hamas conflict (without disclosing these Israeli gov-paid junkets), but journalists who’ve called for fairness, accuracy & transparency in reporting are banned?
Just spent time talking to @UniSuperNews - who are taking many calls from members about this. They confirmed to me that they are receiving a number of complaints and also confirmed that this concern about 'pedalling death' (his quote of what others have said) has been raised.
@genevievegdn I'm technically in the org's infrastructure team, who often work with archaeologists and heritage consultants, so I think my experience helped in that regard, on top of the more usual transferable research and writing skills
