Why follow a one-person studio?
Because I make every call myself, in public: what to build, what to cut, and what the big studios keep getting wrong.

Which would you put first? I went lifetime > cancellation > Play mode exit > pooling. And would you keep coroutines for anything visual, or go all-in on Awaitable?
Porting coroutines to Awaitable in Unity 6 is not a find-and-replace. Coroutines quietly handled 4 things for you. Moving to async gives you 4 new things to handle yourself. Here's the list. Tell me which one I weighted wrong. https://t.co/PoFx3GjWrF
Valve says wishlists alone don't move Steam visibility. People buying and playing does.
So the demo is the marketing now. If the first 10 minutes don't hook, no wishlist push saves it.
Valve says it's "fully aware" of the AI slop flooding Steam.
Rather than filtering developers, Valve wants to improve discovery. Next Fest shows games almost at random for the first two days, and wishlists alone don't boost your Steam visibility. People actually buying and playing your game does.
Tom Giardino highlighted the shift in scale. Just three years ago, he was going around trying to convince developers to participate, saying, "There are only 50 or 100 games, so you should definitely join," but now the number of participating titles reaches into the thousands. He described it as "the pendulum swinging to the opposite side."
"We don't think we're perfect and there's plenty of room for improvement," but added, "Rather than limiting developer access, making Steam a smarter and more dynamic platform is the starting point of our philosophy."
@scarletmoon_@hosoe_shinji The original Tekken soundtrack still hits harder than most modern fighting game OSTs. Hosoe's work from that era aged better than anything.
