@EoinLenihan Ireland as a whole is a much richer country than before. It’s not evenly distributed but much of the population are doing better than previous generations could have imagined. Saying that non-Irish tech workers are all Indian is both xenophobic and displays your ignorance.
@hayesdev_ Writing code is such a minimal part of the job of software engineers. Most of the time is spent designing and debugging. Having an agent write the code means more time figuring out hard problems and integrating with existing systems safely.
@GergelyOrosz Too often you’d hear something along the lines of “I voted for Brexit because we had to do something about these {non EU racial slur} coming here”. Total lack of basic understanding of what they were voting for.
@BillAckman@Nike I’ve run 5 marathons and said never again after each one. This is a really well known phrase but not for the reasons you’re reaching for.
@robertburke84 Or… hear me out here, he didn’t love his video being shared by the unpleasant sides of the anti immigration debate and took it down… there’s little sign of the criticism that folk are cultching pearls about.
Leavitt: 67% of the injunctions in this century have come against which president? Donald J. Trump. Let me say that again. 60% of the injunctions by partisan activists in the judicial branch have come against Donald Trump.
@chamath Except the US 10 year is higher than all of these except the U.K., which has been a bit of a basket case recently. So perhaps this isn’t the canary you suggest it is?
@has_janey18742@AidanMullins7 You’re right. I don’t know who this judge was but they clearly don’t understand grammar. I’d love to explain it to them properly.
@dhh Hate speech is not allowed. This does not affect 99.99% of people in Europe and a fair judicial body defends the rare minority against unfair targeting. It’s a non-issue for the vast majority but an easy target for rabble rousers.
@dhh The concept that Europe would welcome the US as liberators is absurd. Comparisons of Europe to authoritarians is hyperbolic strawmanning.
Europe prioritises social liberty; we don’t let people go bankrupt over illness; we provide greater access to education.
@dhh It’s most curious to see the idea that the problems of America are so much better than the problems of Europe suddenly rear its head up so vehemently in certain cohorts.
Would make you think that the proponents have an ulterior motive in mind.
