Web3 Grows With Builders, Not Influencers
Events are filled with BD reps, marketers, and Insta-style influencers who represent projects… yet they don’t understand the tech they’re promoting.
Ask them basic questions like TPS, consensus mechanism, or what makes their chain unique — they’re blank.
This culture is slowly killing the ecosystem.
Somewhere along the way, projects shifted from:
Builders → Marketers
Product → Hype
Community → Private Circles
Merit → Favoritism
And once that happens, the project loses its vision.
Web3 was built on the backs of builders who ship and users who actually use the products.
But now, many ecosystems are being represented by people who:
don’t understand what they’re selling
treat every event like a merch farming opportunity
gatekeep access for their own friend groups
act like ecosystem owners instead of community members
priorities clout over contribution
This isn’t decentralization.
This is Web2 behavior wearing Web3 merch.
When a project gives priority to marketers over builders, it signs its own death certificate.
Because hype can attract attention, but it cannot sustain adoption.
Only builders can.
A strong ecosystem grows because:
real features are shipped
real problems are solved
real users get value
the community feels included, not filtered by favoritism
But when the loudest people don’t use the product and the most visible faces don’t understand it, the entire narrative becomes hollow.
Web3 doesn’t need more people who “network.”
It needs more people who build, ship, design, contribute, and understand.
Until projects start prioritizing builders > marketers, the same cycle will continue:
Big hype → wrong culture → community frustration → decline.
Web3 exists because builders exist.
Everything else should support them — not replace them.
