Impressive work from the @vatsanraman lab on biosensor development ๐ This platform enables designing biosensors to detect small molecules, with applications like detecting contaminants in water, drug metabolism, and more. Excited to see its real-world impact! #biosensors
Biosensors are a cornerstone of synthetic biology!
Thrilled to share Sensor-seq, a scalable, sequencing-based platform for designing allosteric transcription factors (aTFs) that respond to non-native ligands.
With Sensor-seq, we created aTFs to detect molecules like naltrexone, quinine, and tamoxifen derivatives. This platform opens the door to designing biosensors on demand for new molecules of interest!

Congrats, @davidrliu and @PrimeMedicine. I'm truly amazed at how quickly you transformed your ideas into life-saving treatments. It's very inspiring!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Clinical Trials ๐ค
The first prime editing clinical trial has been cleared by @US_FDA to begin: prime editing of HSCs to treat chronic granulomatous disease (CGD). Congratulations to @PrimeMedicine on achieving this key milestone only 4.5 years after we published the first prime editing paper.
@jrkelly@jrkelly Congratulations on expanding the access of @Ginkgo foundry to more researchers. I have a naive question: What do you think differentiates Ginkgo from other CROs that offer similar services?
@aliceyting Congratulations on this excellent work @aliceyting and team. I have a naive question: If the amount of mcherry in the cells can be measured, does it imply that the rate of degradation is much slower than the rate of internalization?
@liugroup@davidrliu Wish you a happy birthday @davidrliu Super excited for the next game-changing research and therapeutics you are going bring to the world in the next decade ๐
