As much as this sucks for my Eags! This sport does the post season better than any other sport at any level.

I signed to UCLA my junior year of high school and was told I was going to start Day 1.
Opening Day at UCLA?
I was sitting the bench. 😭
I had 2 choices:
1. Complain, pout, and blame the coaches
OR
2. Find the holes on the team and become valuable.
So for 3 weeks, I sat the bench.
I showed up early.
Stayed late.
Cheered for my teammates.
Dragged the field every 3rd inning.
Meanwhile, I studied the team.
The middle infielders were doing well.
Third base wasn’t.
So I told the coaches:
“I can play third.”
Then I noticed something else:
Offensively, we were either hitting home runs or getting out.
I saw the gap.
If I could become a tough out, get on base, and bring energy to the team…
I could create value.
Then we played Miami.
The starting third baseman was hitting .115.
They gave me a shot.
I went 2 for 3 with a walk.
Played solid defense.
Brought energy.
I never sat the bench again.
Eventually, I became team captain…
and we were ranked #1 in the country.
One thing baseball taught me:
Opportunities don’t always go to the most talented player.
Sometimes they go to the player who becomes the most valuable.
Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, down by 3, down to your final strike … GRAND SLAM‼️
Every baseball kid’s dream in the backyard growing up. @SouthernMissBSB's Drey Barrett just lived it 👏
Talent doesn’t set the ceiling—intentional and deliberate practice does!
Mindless reps won’t make you better
Train with purpose, focus on details, and challenge yourself every session
Small adjustments = big gains
Practice doesn’t make perfect
Perfect practice makes progress
@SEYMOURTTT @mcpearson @ClancyJon Talent wise there is probably not much separation. I played at a Juco in Oklahoma where I will 100% say it would beat half of the D1 teams I played against. Some players just don’t have the mentality to handle all the pressure that comes from playing D1.
@mcpearson @SEYMOURTTT@ClancyJon Juco and D1 are a completely different level. You might face some great arms, but most of juco is low level compared to D1, plus you have to add that some great juco players just can’t shine at the D1 level with all the pressure.
Bryce Harper is one of those rare athletes that lived up to every piece of hype there was about him as a teenager.
If you disagree, then go argue with a wall 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺
@xclusive_mystic I did this drill with shoes with my team, and it was the exact same way. My philosophy was with sports. To be able to win, we must be a team player, because nothing is better than good chemistry in a team.
A teacher gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it, and throw it in the hallway.
The teacher then mixed all the balloons. The students were given 5 minutes to find their own balloon.
Despite a hectic search, no one found their balloon, At that point, the teacher told the students to take the first balloon they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it.
Within 5 minutes, everyone had their own balloon. The teacher said to the students, "These balloons arelike happiness.
We will never find it if everyone is
looking for their own. But if we care about other people's happiness, we'll find ours too."
May your day be filled with happiness!🎉
