Lighting for studies is controlled by janitors & often tested on nocturnal animals, you begin to see most nutrition research is junk science https://t.co/ykRLQUbbzu
@DrJackKruse I spent nearly $20k on labs to fix digestive issues. The supplement recommendations afterwards did zilch.
You know what doesn't show up on lab tests? A tight circadian rhythm and high redox. That's what ultimately fixed every digestive problem I had.
@angiewhyer@DrJackKruse I was very vigilant with watching the morning sun daily, eating plenty of seafood, blocking blue light and never wearing contact lenses.
@DrJackKruse What would you do if you had a child with a fever and a risk of febrile seizure? Assume good redox. Would tylenol be an acceptable short term choice - or would something else be better?
@DrJackKruse Interestingly enough, prior to his passing Charles Poliquin talked to me about his use of follistatin in a private conversation. Makes a lot of sense with what you've outlined here
MUST KNOW: ANOTHER HUGE REASON TO SEE MORNING SUNLIGHT (especially if you use artificial light at night).....
In addition to making you more alert during the day, improving your mood and sleep, the blue in bright morning sunlight acts as a countermeasure or antidote to some of the damaging bad health effects of artificial light at night.
It doesnt give you a free pass to use artificial light at night without bad health effects but it reinforces your circadian system so that exposure to a blast of artificial light at night doesnt hurt you as much.
"Our results indicate that bright blue-enriched morning light stabilizes circadian phase, and it could be an effective counterstrategy for poor lighting during the day and also light exposure at the wrong time, such as in the late evening."
Oh, and when the functional, alternative, and other pseudoscientific bro science boys of paleo lore tell you that you need to worry about toxic metal accumulation and ruined detox pathways, ya' know like Dave Asprey, Wolf, and Kresser. Laugh at them for me. Melanin is the key to metal detox in all mammals. #POMCwisdom
More and more data are pointing to the fact that artificial light exposure at night is disrupting metabolic pathways. A recent PNAS study showed that 1 night of 100lux light exposure (during sleep!) altered morning glucose tolerance.
@livevitaeuk the biggest scam running on Twitter right now is that every health issue can be solved with a nutrient/supplement
same line of thinking as pharma dogma
