@ChelsyFreedom@schowardjd Once diagnosed a melanoma on the face of a player I was taking a face off against during an ice hockey game. I arranged for him to have it excised and he’s doing great 10 years later.
@Ero___________7 @DrAkhilX Have used adenosine dozens of times probably for over 20 years without an issue. Also, while it can briefly make patients feel unwell, I warn them about what to expect and no one yet has hated me for it. (At least as far as I know!)
A very useful drug.
@TheResusRoom@zollemsfire@robfenwick@TRRevents Thanks for the work you guys do.
With regards to the HINTS exam and nystagmus, the literature and expert opinion is pretty clear on the issue - it should only be performed on patients with spontaneous or gaze provoked nystagmus. No value otherwise.

@drjgutt You might be familiar with this case, Josh.
Was in the ED for over 30 hours with his “lumbar radiculopathy” before we got to the truth.

@BWildeMTL I suspect he tore his PCL. Its speculation but the video suggests it. It’s a major ligament but u can recover w/o surgery. I tore it & was back to beer-league hockey in 4 mos.
Connor McDavid did the same in Apr ‘19 & was back in Oct w/o surgery. #GoHabsGo

Looks pretty cool when looked at with proper glasses.
I’m a little concerned however as to how many patients I will be seeing tomorrow with eye complaints.
Be careful out there!

@RazaSN @okwalding Really? I work in Montréal’s busiest ED and haven’t had one done, or have been told to have one done, since I started working there over 30 years ago. This happens elsewhere?
